Permanent Outdoor Lighting in Boise, Idaho

Pure Light Systems installs TruLight permanent roofline lighting and landscape lighting for Boise homes. The lights stay up year-round: warm white for everyday evenings, color for holidays and game days, all controlled from your phone. Every layout is planned around the house itself, from older North End and Bench homes to newer two-story builds in West and Southeast Boise.

Permanent lighting designed around the home

Boise has a wide range of houses. The North End and East End have older homes with detailed trim and porches. The Bench has plenty of mid-century ranch homes with long, simple eaves. West Boise, Southeast Boise and the Harris Ranch and Barber Valley areas have more recent construction with stone, stucco and stacked gables.

A permanent lighting layout that looks right on one of those homes can look wrong on another. We start with the roofline and exterior materials, decide which lines actually define the house, and design from there instead of outlining everything by default.

Lighting approaches for Boise rooflines

Common home styles around Boise, and what we usually plan for on each:

Roofline styles and lighting approaches
Roofline or home styleWhat to plan for
Traditional gabled rooflinesOutline the main gable and the eave lines that face the street. A clean, continuous run along each edge usually looks better than lighting every short return.
Craftsman-influenced homesDeep eaves, exposed rafter tails and decorative trim need careful track placement so the lighting follows the fascia without hiding the details that make the house look the way it does.
Newer stucco and stone homesWarm white from dedicated white LEDs suits stucco and stone. Layouts often emphasize the entry gable and stone-faced sections.
Two-story facadesUpper and lower eaves can be lit together or separately. Lighting the upper roofline alone can define the house from a distance; adding the lower eave fills in the facade.
Garage-dominant elevationsWhen the garage is the widest part of the front, lighting it alone can overweight the design. Balancing the garage eave with the entry and main roofline usually reads better.
Multiple front-facing peaksDecide which peaks define the house, then light those consistently. Sometimes every peak is lit; sometimes the smaller ones are left dark on purpose.

Selective lighting and daytime appearance

You do not have to light the whole roofline. You can light only the street-facing elevation or just the most visible peaks. The track mounts low-profile under the eaves or behind trim, and the lights are designed to blend with the trim when off. On older homes we pay particular attention to where the track can sit cleanly. For homes with stacked peaks, see our two-story and multi-gable guide.

Everyday warm-white architectural lighting

Day to day, permanent lighting works best as quiet architectural lighting, not a light show. TruLight lights include three dedicated warm-white LEDs alongside three RGB LEDs, so everyday white comes from white LEDs rather than only from mixed color.

Set a sunset timer and the roofline comes on in warm white each evening and turns off when you choose, without opening the app.

Holidays, game days and events

The same lights handle Christmas, Halloween, the Fourth of July and Boise State game days. Save scenes in the TruLight app, then switch between them in a few taps or schedule them ahead of time. See permanent Christmas lights.

Zones let different parts of the house do different things, such as warm white on the main roofline with color on the garage.

Adding landscape lighting to the exterior design

Roofline lighting outlines the house; landscape lighting fills in what is around it. Mature street trees, front walks and stone entries are common candidates. We plan the two together so brightness and color temperature match. In the TruLight systems we install, landscape lighting is controlled in the same app as the roofline.

Why TruLight is different

  • Six LEDs per light: three RGB plus three dedicated warm-white.
  • 48V system, which TruLight says reduces power injection points on longer runs.
  • Zones, patterns, sunset timers and voice-assistant support.
  • TruLight limited lifetime warranty on qualifying dealer-installed lighting modules and control box, subject to the manufacturer's terms.

Details and sources are on our TruLight technology page.

What professional installation includes

Boise permanent lighting FAQ

Do you install permanent lighting in Boise?

Yes. Pure Light Systems is based in neighboring Eagle and installs TruLight permanent roofline and landscape lighting throughout Boise, including the North End, the Bench, and East, West and Southeast Boise.

How much does permanent lighting cost in Boise?

Pure Light Systems typically prices permanent roofline lighting around $27–$30 per linear foot, depending on the home, roofline complexity, access, layout, and project scope. Landscape lighting is quoted separately. We can usually give a general price range by phone or from your online request using satellite-view measurements, then confirm the final price with a free on-site quote.

Will permanent lights look right on an older Boise home?

They can, when the layout follows the architecture. On older homes with detailed trim, exposed rafter tails or uneven eaves, track placement and where each run starts and stops matter more. We review those details during the on-site quote before recommending a layout.

Can I switch to Boise State colors on game day?

Yes. You can save a blue-and-orange scene in the TruLight app, switch to it for game day, and switch back to warm white afterward.

Do I have to light the whole roofline?

No. You can light only the street-facing elevation or the most visible peaks. The quote reflects the footage and layout you choose.
